Lisa leads a discussion with other volunteers on appropriate pricing for Global Mamas new product line.

Description: Women in Progress is in the process of launching a new product line under the brand name Global Mamas where all proceeds from product sales goes directly back to the women and other nonprofit programs that further economic development. Although the Global Mamas product line had just been defined, Women in Progress needed assistance in appropriately pricing these goods and in marketing the items over the Internet.

Achievements: Lisa was able to accomplish a tremendous amount in a short amount of time:
  • Provided a detailed analysis of prices for Global Mamas apparel and accessories of competing retail suppliers.
  • Convinced Women in Progress to substantially raise product prices to reflect both the quality of the handmade product being made and the budgets of target consumers.
  • Conducted an in-depth analysis of keywords that appear in major online search engines and made recommendations on how to market the Global Mamas eCommerce site.
Highlights: The most satisfying part of Lisa's experience was meeting and learning about the seamstresses in Ghana who produced the clothes and learning about how Women in Progress as an NGO can make a significant difference to the lives of many.
