Morgan interviewing a new Prampram Mama, Christy
|

 |
Description:
Global Mamas opened a retail store in Accra, Ghana in the summer of 2008. The store has proven to be a success and sales afforded the organization the opportunity to pursue new initiatives. We asked Morgan to work along side three other volunteers to analyze the current store layout and institute changes based on the review. Morgan also traveled to Pram Pram, the location of our new Fair Trade Workshop, to interview the producers for the 'Meet the Women' section of our website.
Accomplishments:
Morgan assisted WIP in many areas: - Retail Store Analysis-Based on the retail store sales data, re-merchandised store to better promote best selling items, improved product displays and improved store layout
- Trend Research and Concept Development-Analyzed sales data from previous years and compiled sales trends to be used in deciding products and prints for the 2012 line
- Online Batik Library-Organized and formatted pictures of Batik prints to offer Private Labeling on the Global Mamas website to wholesale customers
- Interviewed workers in Pram Pram and created stories to post on Global Mamas website. Data gathered from interviews will also be used when Fair Trade standards are audited.
Highlights:
Morgan felt like once she was able to settle in and get comfortable, she realized how absolutely content she was. She loved the work she was doing, loved the company, loved the people she was working with and loved being in Ghana
