Vacation
Rachel helping to merchandise the store in Osu

Description: When Rachel first arrived she headed to Prampram to photograph the women and then displayed their photos on the website for the "Meet the Women" section. Back in Accra, she worked on the wholesale bead catalogue, helped merchandise the Global Mamas store in Osu and worked with other volunteers to paint the Global Mamas store signage. One of her favorite projects was trend researching and concept development for the 2012 line.

Accomplishments: Rachel assisted WIP in many areas:
  • Inventory management of the stock room in the Osu store
  • Quality control checking of garments
  • Trend research/forecasting for the 2012 line
  • Photographed and interviewed women in Prampram
Highlights: The exchange of knowledge between the women and Rachel had an impact on her. Rachel felt that her ideas were valued and incorporated into the group projects. She was able to travel to our different sites and witness the diversity, in not only the environment, but culture and way of life as well.
