Danielle interviews Yaw and Grace to collect baseline data on the new members of the Krobo Global Mamas Bead Cooperative.

Description: WIP wanted to improve our marketing through better photographs and stories for the "Meet the Women" profiles on the Global Mamas website. WIP also needed to update baseline and financial data with the new members of the Cape Coast and Global Mamas Cooperatives.

Achievements: With years of experience as a documentary series producer for the BBC, Danielle took the lead to accomplish many tasks to assist women in Ghana to generate revenue for years to come:
  • Photographed and interviewed all the women who had joined Global Mamas in 2006 and all the members of the Krobo Bead Cooperative.
  • Organized all the women's photographs and created stories that were posted on Meet the Women section of the Global Mamas website and the WIP Project Highlights section of the Women in Progress website.
  • Collected baseline/financial data on all the new women in the Cape Coast and Krobo Cooperatives that provides a snapshot of how a business is doing before joining Global Mamas so that we can track progress throughout the years.
  • Organized the out-of-control Global Mamas photo library so that now WIP staff and volunteers can easily find any photo they may be looking for.
  • Organized and carried out many photo shoots of adults and children wearing Global Mamas clothing. These fashion photos can be seen on the main and category pages of the Global Mamas website and will be used for future catalogs and other marketing material.
Highlights: Danielle came to Ghana wanting to get to know the people and their way of life, instead of just passing through like she normally does when travelling around. And, she says that's exactly what she got and she doesn't think she would have had nearly such a great time if she had just been touring around. She says that the friendly people made her time in Ghana very special.
