Vacation
Oh the joy (and challenge) of product development! Carol and Sarah show a potholder meant for a human, but made for a lobster.

Description: WIP needed assistance in validating the quality control procedures for Global Mamas products in order to roll out a more formalized QC system. WIP also was hoping to produce a Ghanaian cuisine cook book to be sold as part of the new kitchen set (aprons, potholders and oven mitts).

Achievements: Carol followed through on many initiatives:
  • Completed the last stage of the Global Mamas quality control process by validating product specifications on all apparel products: measurements for all sizes, pattern layout, textile stamping patterns, and production costing.
  • Collected data needed for WIP to roll out our new production management system.
  • Created master patterns for all products to be kept in the WIP office.
  • Worked with Lindsay and Ghana's number one cook, Eli, in cooking Ghanaian meals every night and creating recipes for "Cape Coast Kitchen", a comprehensive Ghanaian cuisine cook book for sale at www.globalmamas.org.
  • Determined measurements and cloth requirements for many new Global Mamas home décor items.
  • Wrote product depoopions for the new Home Décor products to be sold online.
  • Developed a new tiered ladies' skirt to be added to the Global Mamas product line.
  • Introduced Global Mamas products to her retail employer in the US who placed the largest order to date with Global Mamas.
