Vacation
Lindsay cooking Ghanaian deserts with Auntie Esi and writing recipes for the new cook book "Cape Coast Kitchen".

Description: The Global Mamas home décor line had recently been launched, but WIP needed assistance in documenting the detailed product specifications for each new product to help control quality as production levels increased. WIP also was hoping to produce a Ghanaian cuisine cook book to be sold as part of the new kitchen set (aprons, potholders and oven mitts).

Achievements: During her stay, Lindsay helped out in many different areas:
  • Worked with Carol and Ghana's number one cook, Eli, with cooking Ghanaian meals every night and creating recipes for "Cape Coast Kitchen", a comprehensive Ghanaian cuisine cook book for sale at www.globalmamas.org.
  • Determined measurements and cloth requirements for many new Global Mamas home décor items.
  • Created detailed product specifications for many new Global Mamas home décor products.
  • Helped in the design/layout of a larger tablecloth.
  • Photographed the new Global Mamas home décor items for a new catalog and website sales.
  • Created the Global Mamas pig design that will be used on t-shirts as part of the "On the Farm" line.
Highlights: The most satisfying part of Lindsay's experience was seeing the end product of WIP's inaugural cook book, "Cape Coast Kitchen", and having the recipes actually work back home! The most memorable parts for Lindsay will always be the little things: story-time and dinner on the roof every night, waking up to the ladies pounding rocks, experiencing a new smell every two feet, and seeing Lizzy's smile every morning.
