Description:
Global Mamas and Women in Progress was such an inspirational organization to work with. I was fortunate enough to have traveled to many of the sites of the women that produce such products for Global Mamas.
Accomplishments:
- Organized and coordinated volunteers staying at Accra living quarters
- Assisting at the youth theatre group
- A tour of duty in the Ghanaian Navy Cadet program
- A mid-air collision between two paragliders at the 5th annual paragliding festival in Ghana
- Jessica Alba's friend and bodyguard for 30 minutes at the Global Mamas Store in Accra
- Various other Global Mamas projects in Accra
Highlights:
From Krobo to Cape Coast, the women all share a common trait: love for their life. The Global Mamas motto is all about making one's life better through self improvement and dedication. These women have really shown how much they can improve and still keep true to themselves; a characteristic that I think is most important when facing difficult times. A person that describes such a wonder in the Global Mamas family would have to be Eli, a batiker from Cape Coast. This brilliant lady was so pleasant and fun to be around. She could share her skills with me, her story with me, and manage to still produce and run her workshop at the same time!
