Vacation
Rachael with Appiah and Kukwa at the volunteer house.

Description: Women in Progress is looking to grow its programs to other locations within Ghana and to new countries. WIP is considering various "franchise" models for expansion. WIP needed to conceptualize and document its strategic plan and document various procedures and processes that would improve efficiency in Cape Coast and be used when launching new locations.

Accomplishments: Rachael took the lead in helping WIP to conceptualize and document its operational procedures:
  • Interviewed a majority of Global Mamas participants to discover how the organization has helped/assisted them in growing their own businesses.
  • Met with a consultant from the West African Trade Hub to discuss the possibility for growth and determine which "franchise" models are most suitable.
  • Documented WIP's operational procedures and created an Orientation Packet for new participants to the Global Mamas program that will be rolled out in Cape Coast and all new locations.
Highlights: Rachael most enjoyed meeting with all the women. She learned a lot from this amazing group of women as they are filled with joy and enthusiasm for their work. Some want to grow their businesses by leaps and bounds, while others want to educate more women with practical business training. She found that most of the women thankful to WIP that they are able to provide for their families as it brings them dignity and pride.
