Volunteer

Vacation
Cold in Ghana? Are you sure?

Description: Kara worked along side fellow volunteers on jewelry product development, batik design and website design. She also helped implement the 2011 social networking plan.

Accomplishments: Kara assisted WIP in many areas:
  • Designed four new prints
  • Trained batikers on each print and worked with them to sample the products
  • Designed a home page layout and templates for the Ghana Expeditions website
  • Designed a new layout for the Handcrafting homepage along with template for all of its sections
Highlights: Kara enjoyed her time working with the Mamas on her batik designs. It was quite the experience traveling to their shops and homes and working side by side with them on their craft. Kara was patient with the Mamas and developed some great relationships along the way.
